Bottle Top Pincushion

I was perusing the blogs and found an article on those cute little bottle top pincushions. Trying to figure out a unique gift for a swap, my mom and I thought of this cute little idea. I digitized the poinsetta for the embroidery machine to make them quicker to make, altho the first one I did by hand on the sewing machine. The second one, christmas lights, is a design I modified from www.pnw-embroidery.com I hope these inspire your creativity! Enjoy.

So What Wall Hanging

I found a great saying on line that really applies to my daughter and I just couldn't resist making this wall hanging. It took me about an hour to digitized the design and about two hours to make the wall hanging. It will be a surprise for Christmas. I hope all of you are making progress on your Christmas gifts.

How to finish the binding on a Quilt

Finally, a great explanation of how to finish your binding. I've always just eyeballed it and, well, it is never perfect. This explanation, with pictures, is worth it's weight in gold. I hope this helps someone else as much as it did me.

Baby Clock

Babies are such fun! My dear friend Lee, became a first time grandma on Tuesday. Lee made the baby a wonderful quilt with an outdoors theme. I wanted to keep this clock in the same colors and theme and I think it turned out wonderful. I really enjoy designing baby clocks. I'd love to do one for your special little one too!

Applique Jugs Top

I finished the apple cider jugs top this evening and all in all, it looks pretty good. I will try to get it layered, quilted and bound next week.

Remedial Applique

Well, after finding Sindy's site www.fatcatpatterns.com I found a UFO that I need to address before I tackled one of Sindy's great designs. I traced the pattern pieces onto the wonder under and ironed them to my chosen fabrics. Cut them out and placed them on my backgrounds. Well, lo and behold, I forgot to reverse my pattern pieces. Now if you did not see the original pattern you might not notice, but it gave me a great laugh tonight!

Halloween Pincushion

This is my newest pincushion creation. I made a similar one for a gift in a swap.
